To cultivate the art of persuasion, students participated in debates, culminating our study of Imperial China in social studies. They selected a topic from the ones I generated and debating teams were formed. After the debates, they created a VLOG recalling moments from the debates. They were asked to reflect upon their learning and the different perspectives they gained in the various roles they played as a debater, judge, moderator, timekeeper and videographer.
